Instruments that traditionally have four strings and share similarities include the violin, viola, cello, and double bass. All of these string instruments are played with a bow and belong to the violin family, characterized by their construction and playing techniques. They are typically tuned in perfect fifths, which contributes to their harmonious sound when played together.
For one thing, "string instruments" and "stringed instruments" are not the same. String instruments are the viol family and stringed instruments are any instrument that has strings. The piano and harp both qualify. Now, the piano is a percussion instrument that has strings and the harp is an unbowed stringed instrument.
There is also a twelve string guitar. There is such thing as an Archguitar which has eleven strings.
One thing that string, wind, and percussion instruments have in common regarding the sounds they produce is that they all rely on vibrations to create sound. In string instruments, vibrations come from plucked or bowed strings; in wind instruments, sound is produced by the vibration of air within the instrument; and in percussion instruments, vibrations occur when surfaces are struck or shaken. Despite their different mechanisms, the fundamental principle of vibrating materials to generate sound unites these diverse categories of instruments.
Usually when people talk about a no strings attached relationship they are referring to having sex, with no strings attached, which is to say, other than having sex, you are not going to expect or demand anything from that person. Friendship is composed of many elements, which some people might describe as strings. Friends help each other. However, you could isolate some aspect of friendship from the other aspects if you wanted to. For example, you could have a pizza eating friend. The only thing that the two of you do together would be to share pizza. This could be done with no strings attached. Just because you share pizza together, does not require you to also share spaghetti.
Piano, drums, guitar, bass guitar, strings (violin?), saxophone, vocals. I believe that's it unless I'm missing some small thing.
There is a large variety of choices. You will have to experiment with various strings to find which kind you like best and that sound the best on your ukulele. Nylon is pretty much the only thing used now, though you can find aluminum wound nylon strings. Most players really like the Aquila Nylgut strings. I like the feel of them. I know at least two professionals that prefer D'Addario strings (Jake and Aldrine). Traditional players using vintage instruments like the Martin strings. It will also depend on the tuning, I go with the standard G'CEA.
We share because it is a polite thing to do.

Vibration dampners?
Probably "strings" but until that is proven quarks or leptons.
That would most likely be the 'Bolo'.
It depends on what thing it is that you want them to do.
