By definition, global warming can not be "in North America". Global means "world-wide" and America is but part of the world. However, the United States can and will experience the impact of global warming. During the Winter Olympic Games, Canada was in the embarrassing position of having to truck in snow from hundreds of kilometres away: that is the public face of global warming.

Some will scoff, but global warming can result in the US experiencing localised episodes of extreme cold, simply because of changing wind patterns from the Arctic region. Some also scoff when told that the recent extremes of hurricane and tornado activity could well be the result of global warming.

We do know that the average global temperature is increasing. Average temperatures in the United States will also inevitably increase. However, those are averages and there will be occasional localised extremes of either heat or cold.

Does speed of sound increase with increase of temperature?

Yes, the speed of sound in air does increase with an increase in temperature. This is because higher temperatures lead to increased molecular motion, which in turn allows sound waves to travel faster through the medium.

What is the motto of The Wildlife Society?

The Wildlife Society's motto is 'Excellence in wildlife stewardship through science and education'.

What is the purpose of a wildlife corridor?

The corridors are thin/narrow strips of wildlife habitat that in themselves are too small to be long-term habitats/homes for anything but very small species of wildlife (such as insects and plants), but they connect large areas that can be. They encourage wildlife to travel between areas of suitable habitat when the same species would be very reluctant or incapable of travelling between them by going through highly man-modified habitat, such as arable fields, housing, etc. etc.

How high temperature affects osmosis and why?

High temperatures can increase the rate of osmosis by providing more energy for molecules to move across a semi-permeable membrane. However, extremely high temperatures can denature the proteins and alter the membrane structure, leading to disruption of osmotic balance and cell damage. Ultimately, high temperatures can increase the overall osmotic pressure within the cell, affecting its function and integrity.

As you move up through the mesosphere the temperature?

As you move up through the mesosphere, the temperature decreases. This is because the mesosphere is the layer of the atmosphere that sits above the stratosphere and below the thermosphere, where temperatures tend to increase.

How do veterinarians help with wildlife medicine?

In general, in the United States wildlife veterinary medicine is limited to those veterinarians who are also certified to work with wildlife and is done through wildlife rescue groups. Examples of this would include raptor rehabilitation organizations and predator conservation groups. Veterinarians also help wildlife through educational outreach to teach the public how to safely interact with wildlife and what to do if an injured wild animal is found.

Why should people stop illegal wildlife trade?

Some of the government regulations regarding wildlife that are good and necessary are...maintaining control over endangered species to prevent them from going extinct and to increase their populationsassuring that an animal's habitat is proper and humanerestricting the movement of species that may be carrying harmful diseasespreventing species from being introduced into an area where they have no natural enemies and, therefore, may endanger the existing species in the area through their overpopulation (one good example is the Asian carp problem in the northern Mississippi River in the United States)

Most magma forms in?

the Earth's mantle. As temperatures increase with depth, rocks partially melt to form magma. This magma can rise towards the surface through volcanic activity.

Why does osmosis happen faster at warmer temperatures?

Warmer temperatures increase the kinetic energy of molecules, including water molecules. This causes them to move more rapidly, leading to faster diffusion across a semipermeable membrane during osmosis. Additionally, warmer temperatures can weaken the bonds in the membrane, making it easier for water to pass through.
