Flange joint is one of the methods of pipe joints. Piping and flanges are classified in different ways based on pipe attachment, Pressure-Temperature (PT) rating, facing, face finish. Below are the flanges based on the pipe attachments.
Classification of flanges based on pipe attachment
1) Slip-on Flanges:
These flanges are welded on inside as well as outside to the pipe. They are generally forged type with Hub. They can also be fabricated from plates but without Hub.
2) Socket-Weld Flanges:
These Flanges are welded only on outside of the Pipe. They are usually used in small bore piping where the piping specification is socket weld. They are not used in severe services due to stagnation of fluid at the socket. Socket welded flanges shall be specified with connection pipe thickness to ensure proper bore dimensions.
3) Screwed/Threaded Flanges:
These Flanged are screwed onto outside diameter of the Pipe. They are used at locations where welding is not allowed. They are used in temperature range of 250 Deg to -45 Deg. The threads can be NPT (Nominal Pipe Threads) or BSPT (British Standard Pipe Threads) as required in the Piping specification.

A geothermal pipe for a home generally needs to be buried at least 5-10 feet deep, but this can vary based on local regulations, soil type, and climate. Deeper depths may be required in colder climates to take advantage of more stable ground temperatures for efficient heat exchange.
Well water can potentially affect Quest pipe. Depending on the quality of the water, it may lead to corrosion or other issues with the pipe material over time. It is recommended to conduct water testing and consult with a professional to determine the impact of well water on the Quest pipe system.
The vertical distance between the supply pipe and the flood rim when an air gap is used is typically 2 times the diameter of the supply pipe. This distance is designed to prevent backflow and contamination of the water supply.
This is the description for the conduit of a volcano. Use the link below for more information, including a diagram.Dont listen to that because that's not true its the pipe and if it's not that then its the vent:)
This category includes establishments primarily engaged in manufacturing metal valves and pipe fittings, not elsewhere classified, such as plumbing and heating valves, and pipe fittings, flanges, and unions, except from purchased pipes.
If your talking pipe flanges, they are designed by pressure at certain temps. 150lb is standard, and 300lb is for steam applications.
Pipe flanges are protected from corrosion by means of electrolysis, with dielectric flanges. The piping system is electricaly insulated by what is called a sacrificial anode. A bag of readily corrodable metal is buried in the ground with a wire running from the pipe to the bag so that the sacrificial anode will corrode first. If any electrical current charges the pipe it also serves as a ground.

There are primarily two types of toilet flanges available for installation in a bathroom: PVC flanges and cast iron flanges. PVC flanges are made of plastic and are commonly used in newer homes, while cast iron flanges are more durable and are typically found in older homes. Both types of flanges serve the same purpose of connecting the toilet to the drain pipe.

Different types of flanges are used in piping systems based on pressure, temperature, and application needs. Common types include weld neck flanges (ideal for high-pressure systems), slip-on flanges (easy to install), blind flanges (used to close pipe ends), socket weld flanges (for small, high-pressure pipes), and threaded flanges (no welding required). Choosing the right flanges for industrial piping applications and pressure systems ensures leak-proof connections and long-term durability. Each type serves a specific purpose depending on the project requirements. For reliable quality and performance, brands like Navrang Steel offer a wide range of flanges designed to meet industrial standards and demanding environments.
A pipe spool refers to a prefabricated section of a piping system. This includes the pipe, fittings and flanges that are pre-assembled. They are pre assembled because this can be done in a controlled environment.
The different types of toilet flanges available in the market include PVC, ABS, cast iron, and stainless steel. These flanges are used to connect the toilet to the drain pipe and provide a secure seal to prevent leaks.
A pipe flange is used in the assembly of pipe to pipe or other things like valves, elbows etc. The flanges are bolted together, creating several lengths of pipe or other assemblies.
The bolt-up pattern on pipe flanges refers to the specific arrangement and sequence in which bolts are tightened to secure the flanges together. This pattern is typically designed to ensure even distribution of stress and to prevent misalignment or warping of the flanges. Commonly, a star or crisscross pattern is used, starting from the center and moving outward, to achieve uniform compression of the gasket. Proper bolt-up procedures are crucial for maintaining a leak-proof seal in piping systems.
Stainless steel flanges are used to connect pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment in piping systems. There are several types of stainless steel flanges designed for different applications. Common types include Weld Neck Flanges for high-pressure systems, Slip-On Flanges for easy installation, Blind Flanges for closing pipe ends, Socket Weld Flanges for small high-pressure pipes, and Threaded Flanges for systems where welding is not suitable. Other types such as Lap Joint Flanges and Spectacle Blind Flanges are used for maintenance and isolation purposes. Choosing the right flange depends on factors such as pressure rating, temperature, corrosion resistance, and pipe size. Some trusted manufacturers and suppliers of stainless steel flanges include Apple Steels, Rajveer Stainless and Alloys, Metline Industries, Neo Impex Stainless Pvt. Ltd., and Piyush Steel. These companies supply high-quality stainless steel flanges for industrial and commercial applications ⚙️
