How do you damage your environment?

We are damaging the planet by always using things or products that have CFC and we're not using them properly and not even really disposing them properly either. We are also damaging the planet when we always use the tv,computer,aircon and other appliances too much. We also harm the planet by not disposing our wastes properly, since we know that there's 'clean and green program', ' ah, don't worry about those wastes the barangay will deal with it' or some other excuses. There are many carefree Filipinos and sometimes you can't help but think that I'm one of them too. You can actually answer your question on your own, you just have to observe your surroundings and look at the other people that you think are not behaving well. And you should include yourself to the 'I'm not really protecting the Earth' list, because you might not be littering but there are a lot of ways to get included and banned from this list!

You could drop big asteroids or comets onto the planet. These would leave pock marks, but not cause significant damage. Oh, cities--even nations might be destroyed. Entire species could go extinct. It would cause environmental catastrophe, but the planet would survive just fine.

Another way to damage our planet would be to smack it with something REALLY big, like one of Jupiter's moons. Hit hard enough you could potentially crack the world open.

Another way would be to retard earth's orbit, say by passing a moon by it. Eventually you could drop the earth into the sun, which would cause irreparable damage.

Another way would be to drop an antimatter asteroid onto the earth. I calculated just how big an asteroid you would need to demolish the earth. It is surprisingly quite large, even for total mass conversion.

Yet another way would be to invent a universal solvent. Some sort of self replicating nano disassembler could convert the earth into "grey goo." The earth would still have the same mass and orbital characteristics, it would just lack surface features, cities, people, etc.

A cool way to damage the earth would be to create some sort of stable quantum black hole. Some of the earth would probably be shed, like a dog shaking off water, but much of it would likely collapse beyond degeneracy. Imagine our world, about the size of a child's marble, spinning really fast, and emitting x-ray radiation as debris falls in on it. Earth would still possess much the same mass and orbital characteristics, it would just be a whole lot smaller. All people as one. No more war, strife, poverty, disease, hunger. The planet would be kind of peaceful and serene...

Another way would be to pull earth out of solar orbit, and send it off into interstellar space. This wouldn't destroy the planet, but the atmosphere would condense, and it would, of course, get really dark and cold.

Another way would be to drop a small star into the sun, causing it to age prematurely. A bloated red giant star would scorch earth's surface. The planet would survive, just as Venus does, but you could consider that "damage."

There are plenty of ways to damage the environment--we're doing that now.

Mostly we harm the environment by putting so much of our waste (garbage, air pollution, etc.) into it that the existing ecosystem is unable to effectively decompose it in a reasonable amount of time. We also we also remove more animals and plants fro the ecosystem than can be replaced naturally (deforestation, over fishing, hunting to extinction) and this alters the balance of the ecosystem.
