It lyses the cell membrane, destroying the structural integrity of the cell and allowing its contents to dissociate into the surrounding environment where they cease to communicate and function as a whole. It also just keeps ripping the bacteria until its gone

It attacks the lipids in their cell walls {the bricks in their fort}
and kill the enzymes {the bad guys} inside.
