It's very common in the universe (it's the fifth most common element in the universe as a whole), but it's relatively rare on Earth and so is a little pricey. It can only be obtained by fractional distillation of air (where it's present at about one part in 55,000), so it's considerably more expensive than, say, helium, which occurs trapped in pockets in the Earth and can be "mined" (using equipment similar to that used to obtain natural gas).
Nothing will happen as neon is chemically inert.
The element neon gets its name from the Greek word "neos," meaning new. Neon was discovered in 1898 by Sir William Ramsay and Morris Travers through the fractional distillation of liquid air. When they observed the bright red glow emitted by neon gas when an electrical current passed through it, they named it after the newness of this phenomenon.
Neon is not flammable because it is an inert gas, meaning it does not readily react with other substances to produce a flame. Neon is often used in neon signs because it glows brightly when an electric current passes through it.
Neon is typically seen as a bright reddish-orange color when it is in its gaseous state and used in neon signs.
Neon gas is commonly used in bright flashing advertising signs. When an electrical current is applied, the neon gas emits a distinct color of light, creating eye-catching displays.

Ha! Neon Tetras are expensive fish food. So yes, and quite the snack i must add
Neon (Ne) is an inert gas sometimes used in deep comercial diving but is very expensive. Like helium, it is less narcotic than nitrogen, but unlike helium, it does not distort the diver's voice. While neon is not toxic, it does no support life. Breathing pure neon with no oxygen for several minutes would be fatal.
the LG neon in AT&T because its only $92.00 in walmart with full slide keyboard peace out
Neon signs are a classic, eye catching means of advertising your business or brand to the public. That said, this vintage technology does present a number of challenges. More ornate signage, particularly those with many colors, can be prohibitively expensive. And, if any of the neon breaks or "goes" bad in any way, not only is it costly and difficult to fix, chances are the new neon will not matching the glow & hue of what's still in working order.
