Actually aluminum is a little unstable. Its electronic configuration is 2,8,3. To be stable an element needs to have a full outer electron shell so to become stable Aluminium needs to lose 3 electrons to become 2,8 so it will have a full outer shell (8 electrons)

Yes. Aluminium (Al) is a very safe and stable element. Generally, any element after atomic number 83 is considered unstable or radioactive. Aluminium is what 97% of average kitchen foil is made of, if it were unstable, it wouldn't be used in the kitchen

Silicon is a good semi conductor than germanium because silicon is more readily available, cheaper and stable.

How does silicon become stable?

Elements get stable only when it completes electron octate in its outermost orbit. Elements make compounds with other elements to gain or reduce electrons to get stability. silicon make bonds with oxygen and make silicon dioxide to get stable.

When aluminum-27 is bombarded with a neutron a gamma ray is emitted What radioactive isotope is produced?

Aluminum-27 + n -> Aluminum-28 + gamma raywith a 2.3 minute half life Aluminum-28 -> beta- + Silicon-28Silicon-28 is stable.You have now transmuted one stable element to another.
