ADVANTAGES:Rainforests help maintain the water cycle.

The role of rainforests in the water cycle is to add water to the atmosphere through the process of transpiration.

They hold a wide variety of floral, fauna and wildlife.

They are a source of oxygen and fresh air

Rainforests are important to the global ecosystem.

DISADVANTAGES:They produce more greenhouse gases then all of mankind. The rotting vegetation is a known source of far more CO2 and methane then man produces altogether.

Is there a list of what hurricanes will be named before they are actually hurricanes?

Yes, every year has a list of names that will be assigned to storms in alphabetical order as they reach tropical storm intensity (for example the first in 2010 was Hurricane Alex followed by Tropical Storm Bonnie etc.). Each list of names is re-used every six years except for names of storms that are especially bad such as Andrew and Katrina.

When is a tropical storm named?

A tropical storm is named when it reaches a sustained wind speed of 39 mph (63 km/h). This naming convention helps in better tracking and communication of the storm's progress by meteorologists and emergency response teams. The naming of tropical storms follows a predetermined list of names arranged alphabetically and is updated annually.
