These are known as clastic or detrital sedimentary rocks. Depending on the size of the clasts they may be claystones (< 4 micro m), siltstones (grain size between 4 and 64 micro m) or sandstones (grain size between 64 micro m and 2 mm).

If formed of angular fragments larger than 2mm in a finer grained matrix, this type of rock is known as a breccia. If the fragments are rounded, and larger than 2mm then it is a conglomerate.
