Since copper (I) chloride has only limited solubility in water I will assume you mean copper (II) chloride, CuCl2. Then the ions will be Cu2+ and Cl-.

What happens when copper sulfate and steel wool is mix?

IF THE COPPER SULFATE DISSOLVES IN WATER, HAS A BLUE COLOR. WHEN STEEL WOOL IS MIXED WITH COPPER SULFATE,, THE STEEL WOOL DISSAPEARS, A BROWNISH SOLID FORMS, AND THE COLOR OF THE SOLUTION CHANGES FROM BLUE TO GREEN.Copper is produced.

How does Copper Sulfate react to carbon steel?

Copper sulphate solution testA simple 5 percent copper sulphate solution, applied in the same way as the water drop test, should confirm the differences between non-stainless steels and stainless steels. A metallic copper coloured deposit should form easily on non-stainless steels, but the solution should remain free of copper colour if the sample is a stainless steel.

What is the change in color in testing for the presence of protein in egg albumin using solution sodium hydroxide and copper sulfate?

Copper sulphate when mixed with a protein will turn purple if the amount of protein is sufficient enough in quantity to trigger the reaction. Planex1234 says; No offense but i think it is starch that turns dark blue - purple. Thetada says: the colour changes are arguably similar. Iodine solution goes blue/black in the presence of starch. The colour that sodium hydroxide / copper sulphate solution goes in the presence of protein is variously described as mauve / purple.

What is the color of salt copper II sulfate?

Copper (II) sulphate is a salt that is blue.

Did the color of Copper ( ) sulfate change?

We can not answer this as we were not there to observe the experiment. Only YOU can answer this!

It will darken the copper (II) sulfate solution.

What color of cupric sulfate mix into the water?

Blue is the solution's color When blue CuSO4.5H2O (copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate) is dissolved, the solution turns blue. When white CuSO4 (anhydrous copper(II) sulfate) is dissolved, the solution turns also blue.

Why does the color of copper sulfate solution changes during electrolysis?

The color fades as there is a discharge of copper two ions to form copper atoms

What is Color of copper sulfate solution and ammonia?

Copper sulfate (II) CuSO4 is blue; ammonia is a colorless gas. If you mix ammonia water and copper sulfate solution, you will actually form a Brilliant blue copper-ammonium complex that is very pretty. Copper sulfate is blue by itself and anhydrous ammonia is a clear gas with a choking odor.

What is would you expect to see when zinc is added to Copper Sulphate?

there would be a single replacement reaction where the copper forms on the top of the zinc and the blue color of the copper sulfate would get lighter and eventually you would end up with zinc sulfate and copper

How do you turn a stainless silver spoon into a copper spoon?

copper sulfate, or Cu(SO4)(aq). The first clue we have that it is, in fact, copper sulfate is its reaction with the ammonia solution. When the deep blue color formed(in the reaction), the solution formed is [Cu(NH3)4](OH)2(aq), which gives off a bluish color. Secondly, upon acidification of [Cu(NH3)4](OH)2(aq), we see the solution become practically colorless again, The third clue when potassium ferrocyanide is mixed with copper sulfate, it also forms a red precipitate. And last but not least, when copper sulfate reacts with steel, which is primarily iron, copper is formed. This is why the steel changed to a bronze like metal.mystery=copper sulfate

What is biuret test?

The biuret test is a chemical test used for detecting the presence of peptide bonds. In a positive test, a copper(II) ion is reduced to copper(I), which forms a complex with the nitrogens and carbons of the peptide bonds in an alkaline solution. A violet color indicates the presence of proteins. by:Mr. Dael, Dan Rameil R.ZSCMT II-BSMB

What salt gives flames green color?

There are two products that will give flame a green color. Boric acid and copper sulfate. Copper sulfate is the salt, however.

What happens when copper sulfate and magnesium react?

There is a slight color change...We did this in a lab in class. It tarnished slightly. This may be incorrect. I'm not sure...

What color change is there when you add black copper oxide to sulfuric acid?

When you add black copper oxide to sulfuric acid, the solution turns blue because copper sulfate was formed and it is a colored compound.

What happens when you added Ammonia to copper sulfate?

It forms a complex - Copper (tetraamine) sulfate which is a deep inky blue color
