A convection current is how either water or air cools and heats. The thing that causes them is the heating and cooling of air or water which makes it rise or sink.
Well, i don't know what causes them but i do know how they form.Convection currents are formed somewhere in the upper mantle below the asthenosphere and is called the mesosphere.the mantle material,(the hotter material) rises on the surface of the asthenosphere, and pushes the cooler material out of the way, sinking back into the Earth becoming more and less dense each time. Hope this helped! :)
it's to the right.
Convection currents occur in the mantle, which is the middle layer of the Earth. The heat generated from the core causes the molten rock in the mantle to move in a circular pattern, creating convection currents.
The currents that drive plate movement are caused by the heat generated from the Earth's core. This heat creates convection currents in the mantle, which in turn move the tectonic plates on the Earth's surface.
The sun causes currents in the ocean because it is warming the water in the ocean in the day while it is hot, and then in the night when the sun goes down, the ocean starts to cool. Since the air above the water is warmer than in the water, this causes the water to rise up to the warmth until it gets cooled by the night, or from rain. This is what created movement and currents in the ocean from the sun.
The major ones involve the mantle and the oceanic crust.
Geologists believe that covection currents are what causes continental drift. If covection currents never happened and their force didnt move the continents then we'd all live on one large super continent.
The two causes of ocean currents are wind and the rotation of the earth(etc) The wind blows which makes the currents in the water and the rotation of the earth(gravity) makes currents in the ocean currents. Luaye Sharawy
its caused by the moon
In electricity? High voltage ,high currents. Low voltage, low currents.

As the fluid warms:The currents speed upThen as the temperatures of the fluid equalise (the fluid becomes one temp) the currents slow downWhen the fluid is one temperature the currents stop
Currents in the coastal water masses
Randomism .
waves
convection currents!
It is from differing temperatures of air above it that causes currents to flow in the water.
