compost!!

im so excited someone asked!

by putting aside eggshells, apple sking, orange peels, etc

and mixing it with leaves can create a nutritional fertelizer type

soil booster. mix it with your soil in a garden and your plants will look way healthier and bigger, maybe, than store bought chemical fertelizers. try it, good luck!

oh......and you'll need a large barrel with a lid to store it, and roll the barrell on its side around every few days to shake it up. for more info, wikipedia or Google might have some tips

Soil nutritional content can also be improved by tilling the previous year's crop residue into the soil. If the previous year's crop was successful, there is a large portion of the nutrition still left in the residue. Any deficiencies can be made up over time with the application of whatever fertilizing material the farmer desires.

What is free energy of soil?

Free energy of soil refers to the energy available to do work in the soil system. It is influenced by factors such as soil moisture content, temperature, and organic matter content. Understanding the free energy of soil can help in predicting nutrient availability, microbial activity, and overall soil health.

How can a farmer protect the nitrogen content or soil?

Farmers can protect the nitrogen content in soil by practicing crop rotation, using cover crops, and reducing the amount of synthetic fertilizers applied. These practices help to maintain a healthy nitrogen balance in the soil, which is essential for plant growth and soil fertility.

How is quality of soil decided?

The quality of soil is determined by factors such as its texture, structure, pH, nutrient content, and organic matter content. Testing soil for these characteristics can help assess its quality and suitability for different types of plants and crops. Soil quality can also be influenced by management practices and environmental conditions.

What soil factors help determine the type of vegetation that can be supported in a region?

Soil factors that help determine the type of vegetation in a region include soil pH, texture (sand, silt, clay), nutrient content, drainage, and organic matter content. These factors influence the availability of water, nutrients, and oxygen to plants, which in turn affects their growth and distribution in a particular area.

What are two way farmers can protect the mineral content of the soil?

Farmers can protect the mineral content of the soil by practicing crop rotation to prevent depletion of specific minerals and by using cover crops to trap and recycle minerals in the soil. They can also use organic farming practices to improve soil structure and promote microbial activity, which helps in maintaining mineral content.

Does sand effect plant growth?

Sand is basically silica, without other minerals or organic content it is pretty sterile; this means that it provides anchorage and porosity to a soil mixture, but does not necessarily provide a nutritional component.
