A place where two plates slip past each other, moving in opposite directions
A transform boundary is when two plates slide against each other and create friction. Most earthquakes happen on transform boundaries, a popular and very well known fault is the San Andreas Fault. Some people say that California is going to eventually drift away and off from northern America. This is not true at all, it may happen in about 300million years from now. It is not possible now because California only moves 1centimeter a year! Even though California gets a lot of earthquakes, it doesn't mean that we will float away, right away.

A transform boundary is the same thing as a sliding boundary. It means 2 plates slip past each other in opposite directions, this neither destroys or creates something new.
