Lot's of things. The thing about ecosystems is the natural order of things and balance. Too much oxygen, water, mosquitoes, c02, CFCs or ants can all to be harmful to ecosystems. Oxygen, water, c02 are all good, but too much can disrupt the natural order or things.

∙ 11y agoThe natural environment can be harmed in several ways. One is by development of Natural Resources for human use, where some harm may be unavoidable. Another is to dump trash or introduce pollution, or to decimate the populations of plants and animals beyond their ability to sustain themselves. Using chemicals to control unwanted plants and insects can affect the ecosystem in harmful ways, some of which cannot be undone. Introducing non-native species of plants and animals can destroy the local ecological balance.
