Trees are a renewable resource because they can be replanted. Things like fossil fuels can't be repalced by humans. They take forever to form, and although they eventually will, we are using them much faster than they are reforming.

Is hydropower nonrenewable?

No, hydropower is considered a renewable energy source because it relies on the natural water cycle to generate energy. It does not deplete or use up resources in the same way as nonrenewable energy sources like fossil fuels.

Which facility relies on a nonrenewable source of energy?

A coal-fired power plant relies on a nonrenewable source of energy, as coal is a fossil fuel that cannot be replenished on a human timescale. These power plants burn coal to generate electricity, but this process releases greenhouse gases and contributes to air pollution.

What makes peat a nonrenewable energy source?

Peat is considered a nonrenewable energy source because it forms over thousands of years from the accumulation of partially decayed plant material in waterlogged conditions. The rate of peat formation is much slower than the rate at which it is being harvested for energy use, making it unsustainable in the long term. Once peat is extracted and burned, it cannot be easily replaced within a human lifetime.

Is geothermal a renewable or nonrenewable?

Geothermal energy is considered a renewable energy source because it relies on heat from the Earth's core, which is continuously produced. This heat can be harnessed to generate electricity and heat buildings without depleting the resource.

Is geothermal renewable or nonrenewable?

Geothermal energy is considered a renewable energy source because it harnesses heat from the Earth's core, which is continuously generated by radioactive decay and is virtually inexhaustible on human timescales.
