A Young-Earth Creationist believes that the world and living things were created within the last several thousand years, without need for gradual evolution.See also:

Some colleges with a young earth creationist perspective include Liberty University, Bob Jones University, and Cedarville University. These institutions often offer programs or courses that align with this belief system, such as creation science or biblical studies.
A Young-Earth creationist steadfastly refuses to accept the scientific evidence for the age of the earth and insists that God created the earth only a few thousand years ago. An Old-Earth creationist accepts the scientific evidence for the age of the earth but insists that God created the earth and all living things. Both are trying to reconcile their understanding of the Book of Genesis with the real world around us, but the Old-Earth creationist is perhaps a little more flexible and takes a more realistic approach. This leaves him with the dilemma of how to explain Genesis chapter 1, which says the world was created in just six days. The most common attempt at explanation is to suggest that the 'days' were not days in our understanding, but very long periods of time, an explanation that can only be described as full of holes. Both tend to conflate the first creation account (Genesis 1:1-2:4a) with the second creation account (Genesis 2:4bff), treating the second creation account as the fuller description of the creation of man, from the first account. Here, a generally unrecognised problem for the Old-Earth creationist is that the biblical genealogy of Adam only allows the earth to be around six thousand years old, with no benefit achieved from the semantic arguments about just how long a biblical 'day' was.For more information, please visit: http://christianity.answers.com/theology/the-story-of-creation
According to creationism, the Earth is less than 10,000 years old, and is usually found to be around 6,000 years old. This results from an interpretation of Biblical genealogies.
Cyanobacteria changed the young Earth's atmosphere by producing oxygen as a byproduct of photosynthesis. This oxygenation of the atmosphere led to the Great Oxidation Event, which helped shape Earth's atmosphere into one more conducive to supporting complex life forms.
From both perspectives the age of the earth is indeed a central issue. The two positions could not be further apart. According to those who believe in evolution the earth is around 4.54 billions years old. In contrast, those who follow the young-earth creation model see the evidence pointing to an earth which is around 6000 years old.Time as a central issue for evolution is demonstrated in the geologic time scale of the earth and the geologic column. Biological evolution is incorporated into the whole framework with many millions of years deemed as being necessary for the vast changes from molecules to early life down to this present day. Observable evidence points to the increased likelihood of small changes accumulating over a long period, even though we cannot observe them in our own lifetime.Creationists in contrast point to an increasing acknowledgment of rapid geologic processes in mainstream science and the clear demonstration that it is the right conditions rather than time which causes certain processes to take place. Creationists also insist that all the evidence does not require an old earth but can be accomodated into the time-scale of 6000 years when correctly interpreted.Summary: Put simply, both sides regard time as a central issue both in terms of their separate schemes of earth and biological history but in terms of contrast between the two positions.
Despite popular belief he was actually a Creationist
A creationist is one who holds that the Universe, this Earth, and living things originated through Divine creation. See also:Is there evidence against EvolutionCan you show that God existsGod's wisdom seen in His creationsDiscovering Creation
The Creationist would say it was Adam. The Evolutionist would say bacteria - the precursors of algae.

ok the earth was made 6000 years ago,CREATIONIST! prob the sabor tooth
Creationist theory and plate tectonics do not disagree in any way.
Hugh Ross - creationist - was born on 1945-07-24.
No matter whether you adhere to the generally-accepted Darwinian theories orto a strictly creationist ideology, the earth came first. (What would we stand on?)
Claims that there is no such thing, are false. A quick search-engine inquiry yielded a great number of such papers. See some examples in this linked page.See also:Is there evidence for Creation? Can you show that God exists?Seeing God's wisdom
Anecdotal evidence is that almost all creationists are Christians. The majority (but not all) of creationist spokespeople appear, from their comments and discussion, to be fundamental Christians.Sections of the creationist movement in the United States approached the courts, claiming that creationism is not about religion, but is open as to who the creator was. However, they clearly gave no credence to the possibility that the creator god, if he exists, belongs in the Hindu pantheon or perhaps the pagan pantheon, etc. The only logical answer they saw was that the creator god was the Abrahamic God. The court has held that creationism and its offshoot, Intelligent Design, are religious concepts. Those who identify as, or can be identified as, creationists tend to take a quite literal view of the Bible. Many are 'young-earth' creationists who believe, on biblical evidence, that the earth is only a few thousand years old. Others accept the scientific evidence for the age of the earth and adopt an 'old-earth' creationist view. For more information, please visit: http://christianity.answers.com/theology/the-story-of-creation
The driving force for man's exploration of space is the search for life outside of the Earth. If you look at the logic, it is very unlikely that there is life outside of Earth if your a Creationist or evolutionist
The Creationist model can be broken into two contrasting beliefs: Young Earth creationism and Old Earth creationism. Young Earth creationists follow the literal interpretation of the Genesis creation story in the Bible, believing that God created the Universe, Earth and life within six days, each day spanning 24 hours. They do not accept evolution as the method by which life developed. Old Earth creationists conform with scientific evidence of the Earth's age, believing that creation did not happen within six, 24-hour days, but in much longer periods of time spanning thousands, millions, or billions of years. Old Earth creationists believe God developed life over long periods of time, making them conform more closely to evolution, but not strictly to it.
