Earthships are typically constructed using a combination of natural and recycled materials such as rammed earth, tires packed with earth, bottles, and cans. These materials help provide thermal mass and insulation, making the buildings energy efficient and sustainable. Earthships also often incorporate passive solar design principles to maximize solar gain and minimize energy usage.
Earthship was the brain child of Mark Reynolds, who dreamed of environmentally friendly, green architecture. Reliable information can be found at the Earthship dot com website or alternatively at Wikipedia.
In the term Earthship, "ship" does not refer to a water vessel. Instead, it refers to a type of self-sustaining, environmentally-friendly building that typically incorporates recycled materials and renewable energy sources.

try staying in an earthship for your holiday. it is an eco friendly home where everything is economical. try it? the total energy bill for a whole year is just £25!
Earthship construction, (using rammed earth in old tyres), is very labour intensive, so much of the expense depends on the cost of labour. You can reduce the cost by doing some of this yourself, but it is best to have an experienced person oversee the work. Don't forget to factor in the cost of you not earning while you are doing the building. If the type of soil on site is not suitable, bringing in other material will add significantly to the cost and make it less sustainable. The size of the building is a significant determinant of cost as well. Any work involving moving earth can be very time or cost expensive.

Made
"Made of" and "Made from" can mean the same thing. "That can is made from aluminum." "That can is made of aluminum." However, they can't be used the same in every situation. You can say: "That house is made of wood and made from workers." But you can't say: "That house is made of workers and made from wood."
