2,031 earthquakes per year
There are about 10,000 earthquakes every year
I have been doing some maths and found that in the average year, you'd get about 3,610,364(3 million, 6hundred and 10 thousand, 3hundred and sixty four) earthquakes in a year. Ofcourse these are all around the globe. About 2 million of these are bellow 2 on the Richter scale.
it varies on how power the earthquake is and how the environment where the earthquake happened is. if the earthquake is powerful and the environment is strongly built the average kill will be very less compared to a strong earthquake and an environment which is not built strong enough.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Earthquake Center there are over a million earthquakes each year around the world. Only a portion of these are recorded (~20 - 30K per year) because most occur over remote areas or in the ocean.Between 2000 and 2011 the average number of earthquakes in just the US was 3,820 per year that are magnitude 2.5 or higher, which is on average 10.5 per day. But as with most earthquakes, most of these are in rural areas and not even felt. For magnitude 7 and higher there is on average 1 every 2 years in the US typically in Alaska, California or Hawaii.

There are many earthquakes each year that cause no damage, but the ones that do can be fatal. It is estimated that an average of 13,298 die each year as a result of earthquakes.
On average, there are roughly 20,000 - 30,000 recorded earthquakes worldwide every year by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Earthquake Information Center.Between 2000 and 2012 the average number of earthquakes in just the US alone was 3,820 per year that are magnitude 2.5 or higher. However, the USGS estimates that several million earthquakes occur in the world each year and go undetected because they hit remote areas or have very small magnitudes.
On average Japan has ~20 earthquakes per day (note many of these are on the ocean floor with little or no effect on land). On March 11, 2011 alone, there were 200+ aftershocks that day so the number can vary greater on a given day due to seismic activity.

There are on average 20,000 - 30,000 recorded earthquakes around the world each year according to the USGS.For significant earthquakes in 1999 see related link below. USGS keeps statistics of earthquakes by year and region.USGS Earthquake Hazards Program
The US Geological Survey (USGS) National Earthquake Information Center records statistics for earthquakes in the US and worldwide.
