∙ 15y agoAn acid is made acidic by a high concentration of positively charged hydrogen ions, and a base made basic by a high concentration of negatively charged hydroxide ions. When hydrochloric acid is mixed with sodium hydroxide, the hydrogen from the acid combines with the oxygen and hydrogen from base creating H2O (water). The leftover ions from the acid and base combine to from a salt, in this case, table salt (NaCl).

∙ 11y agoUm do you mean 'sodium PLUS hydrochloric acid" ?
if so:
sodium + hydrochloric acid -------> sodium chloride + hydrogen
Hope I helped :)
The chemical formula for hydrochloric acid is HCl and for sodium hydroxide is NaOH.

∙ 11y agoThese two react to give Sodium Chloride, Carbon Dioxide and Water.
Chemical reaction:
NaHCO3 + HCl -> H2O + CO2 + NaCl
Wiki User
∙ 14y agoacid + base = salt + water
NaOH + HCl = NaCl + H2O
base acid salt water
=Sodium Chloride

∙ 12y agoIf you mix it in the right ratio (1:1 on the molecular level) you get salt water...you also get a huge explosion so do this in the fume hood.
The chemical formula for sodium hydroxide is NaOH.
The formula for ammonium chloride is NH4Cl and the formula for sodium hydroxide is NaOH.
The chemical formula of sodium hydroxide is NaOH. It consists of one sodium (Na) atom, one oxygen (O) atom, and one hydrogen (H) atom.
The chemical formula for sodium hydroxide is NaOH.
One example of a chemical containing hydroxide ions is sodium hydroxide, which has the chemical formula NaOH. When dissolved in water, sodium hydroxide dissociates into sodium ions (Na+) and hydroxide ions (OH-). Hydroxide ions are strong bases and can react with acids to form water and a salt.
The chemical formula for sodium hydroxide is NaOH, while the chemical formula for hydrochloric acid is HCl.
The chemical formula for sodium hydroxide is NaOH.
The chemical formula of sodium hydroxide is NaOH.
The chemical formula for the aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide is NaOH (sodium hydroxide) dissolved in water.
No, the formula for sodium hydroxide is NaOH. HC1 refers to hydrochloric acid.
In the reaction between sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and hydrochloric acid (HCl), the chemical compound that is used up is sodium hydroxide (NaOH), as it reacts with hydrochloric acid to form water (H2O) and sodium chloride (NaCl).
The formula for ammonium chloride is NH4Cl and the formula for sodium hydroxide is NaOH.
Yes, the reaction of hydrochloric acid with sodium hydroxide is a chemical change. It forms water and sodium chloride, which are different substances with new chemical properties compared to the reactants.
The word equation for hydrochloric acid reacting with sodium hydroxide is: hydrochloric acid + sodium hydroxide → sodium chloride + water.
The chemical formula (not symbol) of sodium hydroxide is NaOH.
