Dehydrogenation is a type of oxidation reaction which involves the removal of an hydrogen atom(H) from a molecule or compound.

Oxidation reaction in chemistry is simply the removal of an electron from an atom, molecule or compound. A substance that is oxidised loses an electron. There are a lot of different reactions that are oxidation reactions, dehydrogenation is just one example of an oxidation reaction.
