The Atomic Mass of sulfate is simply the atomic masses of sulfur and four oxygen atoms added together or: 32.07 g/mol + (4 x 16.00 g/mol) = 96.07 g/mol. We don't consider the ion charge because electrons weigh so little that they have no impact on any calculations using this mass.
