About 25 hurricanes of varying intensity have struck Miami from 1900 to 2009. You can see an excellent map of this as well as the number of major hurricanes in the area at the link below, which was produced by the National Hurricane Center (these maps are towards to bottom of the page.)
The were 6 named storms in the 1992 Atlantic hurricane season of which 4 became hurricanes: Andrew, Bonnie, Charley, and Frances.
The most famous of them was Andrew.
If you mean in 2008, no hurricane actually hit Miami. However, Tropical Storm Fay did make landfall fairly close to Miami and fell just short of becoming a hurricane.

Hurricane Bill hit the US near the New England states and continued to Canada. Grace was a tropical storm not a hurricane in 2009
The last hurricane to hit the US at least, was Paula which affected the Florida Keys.
