There are a couple ways of doing tail docking. You can place a small elastic on the tail when the lamb is about 2 weeks old, this will cut off the circulation to the lower half of the tail, the tail will be about 2 inches long. Another process is sniping the tail with a pair of sharp, large livestock scissors, then burning the tip of the tail to stop bleeding.
