What behavior among particles effects the solubility of material?

according to the amount of heat energy that you have in a liquid the more soluble material can dissolve. an example of this is dissolving potassium nitrate in 100 cm3 water. at 10 degrees Celsius the maximum amount that dissolves is 20 grams. however when you heat the mixture up to, lets say, 40 degrees Celsius the amount that now dissolves is 60 grams.

How many grams of KNO3 will dissolve in 100 g of water at 30 degrees Celsius?

Instead of waiting for the answer, I ended up solving it. lol 300grams of H20 X 110grams of KNO3/100 grams of H20 = 330 grams of KNO3 The grams of H20 both cancel out and leave you with 330 grams of KNO3 Containing the solubility of KNO3. At 60 degrees celsius the KNO3 grams were 110, which is (over) / 100grams of H20. Hope this helps with this workbook problem :)
