What was the weakest tornado in history?

There is no tornado that can definitively be said to be the weakest. The lowest rating a tornado can get is EF0. When you get into the lower ranges of EF0 it becomes debatable as to whether an event should even be considered a tornado.

Is an ef2 tornado the 3rd weakest?

Technically, yes. EF0 is the weakest, EF1 the second weakest, and EF2 the third weakest. However, Some meterologists consider EF2 and stronger tornadoes as strong, as only about 10% of tornadoes are rated EF2 or higher.

How close can you get before a tornado sucks you in?

That depends on the tornado. In the very weakest tornadoes it would be possible to stand with some difficult inside the tornado itself. In a strong enough tornado the winds may be strong enough to pull you in from as much as 200 yards away, perhaps more.

What structure can withstand a tornado?

It depends on the strength of the tornado. For example, all but the weakest structures will stand up to an EF0 tornado. At the other end, virtually nothing can with stand the full force of an EF5 tornado. Some structures that can withstand such a storm include reactor cores in nuclear power plants, rooms built into some buildings to protect from tornadoes, and most underground structures.

How did scientists measure the 2008 Super Tuesday Tornado Outbreak?

There is no rating system for tornado outbreaks, but there is for individual tornadoes. Each tornado in the Super Tuesday tornado outbreak was rated on the Enhanced Fujita scale based on the severity of the damage it caused. The scale ranges from EF0 for the weakest tornadoes to EF5 for the strongest. The Super Tuesday outbreak produced 86 tornadoes with ratings ranging from EF0 to EF4.

What is the weakest tornado kind?

The weakest category of tornado is EF0 on the enhanced Fujita scale. The weakest of the two actual varieties of tornado are type 2 tornadoes, those that don't form in supercells (landspouts and most waterspouts). These rarelly exceed Ef0 intensity.

Is f1 the biggest tornado?

No. For one thing, Fujita (F) scale ratings measure the strength of a tornado, not its size. F1 is the second weakest rating a tornado can get (F0 is the weakest). Weak tornadoes such as this are generally small, but occasionally can be large. The highest rating a tornado can get is F5.

What city state coutry did the weakest tornado hit?

It is impossible to say, as we do not know what the weakest tornado was. Among the weakest tornadoes, it is difficult to say whether one was weaker than another. In addition, such weak tornadoes often escape notice.

Is a tornado given a number?

No, but it is given a rating based on the EF scale which ranges from EF0-EF5. EF0- Weakest tornado. EF5- Most violent tornado.

Weakest catorgory of tornadoes?

The weakest category of tornado is EF0 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, which runs from EF0 to EF5. EF0 wind estimates range from 65 to 85 mph. An EF0 tornado causes light damage.

What is the weakest wind speed of a tornado?

Tornadoes have had estimated winds as low as 60 mph. Below that it is debatable whether the circulation is a tornado.

Are there 6 categories in a tornado?

Yes. There are six strength categories of tornado on the Enhanced Fujita scale ranging from EF0 at the weakest to EF5 at the strongest.

The weakest point in the chain is the strongest

Is even the weakest possible tornado much stronger than any one human?

Yes.

Is an object really only as strong as its weakest point?

Yes, any object will most likely break or give at the weakest point.
