In fact, Texas has the highest average number of tornadoes of any state in the U.S...This is due partially from it's large size (Oklahoma averages the highest number of tornadoes per square mile, but is a much smaller size than Texas)...Nevertheless, tornadoes are very common in Texas (Especially the northern and eastern parts of Texas)...
