The US Energy Department posts on the Energy Information Agency (EIA) many statistics including millions of barrels per day of gasoline produced. I have include a link which at the bottom, has tables and graphs of the gasoline produced. The "finished gasoline" is the total production, and is currently 8.923 million bbls/day in the latest week. The source of the energy in coal and wind can ultimately be traced to the Sun. Coal is the compressed remains of vegetation that grew millions of years ago, so that was produced by the sun. Wind is part of our weather, and that is also driven by the sun.
