Holmium was discovered in France by the Frenchman Jacques-Louis Soret in 1878.
Holmium was discovered by Per Theodor Cleve, a Swedish chemist, in 1879. Cleve used the same method Carl Gustaf Mosander used to discover lanthanum, erbium and terbium, he looked for impurities in the oxides of other rare earth elements. He started with erbia, the oxide of erbium (Er2O3), and removed all of the known contaminants. After further processing, he obtained two new materials, one brown and the other green. Cleve named the brown material holmia and the green material thulia. Holmia is the oxide of the element holmium and thulia is the oxide of the element thulium. Holmium's absorption spectrum was observed later that year by J. L. Soret and M. Delafontaine, Swiss chemists. Today, holmium is primarily obtained through an ion exchange process from monazite sand ((Ce, La, Th, Nd, Y)PO4), a material rich in rare earth elements that can contain as much as 0.05% holmium.

In 1878, Marc Delafontaine and Jacques-Louis Soret discovered the characteristic spectroscopic absorption lines of a new element they called Element X. Later that year, Per Teodor Cleve independently discovered Holmium through chemical separation techniques from the mineral erbia earth. The three are credited with the discovery of Holmium.
The writers were of Swedish decent and had a great respect for Cleve.

Thulium was discovered by Swedish chemist Per Teodor Cleve in 1879.
By definition, one mole would be the same as the atomic mass. You take the number of moles and multiply it by the atomic mass. So if you have just 1 mole, the number of grams will be the atomic mass. Holmium's atomic mass is 164.93 grams.
Helium was discovered by Swedish chemists Per Teodor Cleve and Nils Abraham Langlet in the year 1895, helium was not discovered in any state in the U.S.

Yes, and it was discovered (and later isolated) by separate, independent scientists. Helium was discovered by the French astronomer Pierre (Jules) Janssen during a total solar eclipse in Guntur, India, in 1868. The same spectral emission lines were noted by the English astronomer Norman Lockyer, also in 1868, who proposed the name "helium," after Helios, the Sun God of Greek mythology. In 1895 Sir William Ramsay separated helium from air in the laboratory; the same year this experiment was repeated independently by Per Theodor Cleve and Nils Langlet in Sweden.
