The North American monsoon, more commonly reffered to as the Arizona Monsoon, occurs mainly in Arizona and Eastern New Mexico. But, Southern California and other deserts surrounded by mountains feel the effects from the monsoons. It mainly occurs in ARizona though, and normally isn't felt anywhere else but Arizona and Northern Mexico.
