Silicon
Silicon Because It Is Its Most Common Factor
In combination with oxygen, silicon appears in large number of molecules. These include metal silicates in rocks such as feldspar and mica, and as silicon dioxide (silica) in sand, quartz, flint, and the gemstones amethyst and opal.
The large macro molecular structure of carbon allows for close packing of carbon atoms making them more dense, whereas in silicon, even though the structure is macromolecular, due to the silicon atom's large size, it cannot pack as closely as carbon thus having a lower density than carbon.
Silicone 'Silicone Valley' was named due to the large number of high technology industry there, based on the silicon chips used to power most electronics.
The term Silicon Valley was coined by Ralph Vaerst. As to whose achievement brought about the idea of naming the place "Silicon Valley" there isn't really one person. It was named so because of the the region's large number of silicon chip innovators and manufacturers
Silicon Valley is an off-the-lot area where small and large companies have Hq's and offices. Mainly in Technology but I'm sure there are others too.
Silicon Valley is a popular name for what is really Santa Clara Valley in Santa Clara County. The size, according to Wikipedia (search on Santa Clara Valley), is about 30 miles long by 15 miles wide.
It is due to the large number of IT companies in Bangalore.
Bangalore is called the 'Silicon Valley of India' due to the large number of information technology companies located there. Many multinational corporations, especially computer hardware and software giants, have operations in Bangalore. The Electronics City was the brainchild of R. K. Baliga, the first Chairman and Managing Director Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation, a government owned agency aimed at expanding the electronics industry in the state of Karnataka established in 1976. Baliga proposed the concept of developing the electronic city in the 1970s. The agency purchased 335 acres (1.36 km2) of land 18 km south of Bangalore for its Electronics City project, which was meant to establish an industrial park in Bangalore. Notwithstanding complaints by the industrial park's tenants on the condition of the roads, power and water availability, KEONICS claimed initially that the title of Silicon Valley of India belonged to the city's Electronics City campus.
The US has an area norht of San Francisco, California which is known as "Silicon Valley" where many of the world's largest technology corporations are located. The term originally referred to the region's large number of silicon chip innovators and manufacturers, but eventually came to refer to all the high-tech businesses in the area. The "Silicon Glen" is so named by analogy to Silicon Valley. A glen is a Scottish term for a narrow, deep valley in the Highlands. The term "Silicon Glen" has been in use since the 1980s. It does not technically represent a glen as it covers a much wider area than just one valley, but it does encompass the region where most of the high-tech companies are located in Scottland.
I presume you mean Silicon Valley?Silicon Valley is the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California in the United States. The region is home to many of the world's largest technology corporations as well as thousands of small startups.[1] The term originally referred to the region's large number of silicon chip innovators and manufacturers, but eventually came to refer to all the high-tech businesses in the area; it is now generally used as a metonym for the American high-tech sector.
Silicon dioxide is not a white solid- large pure crystals are colorless and transarent- powdered silcon dioxide is white- this is due to the presence of the small particles. titanium dioxide has a high refractive index so appears white.
Barium has a radius (not raduis) which is almost twice as large as that of silicon.
It is safe to say that most jobs tend to have higher pay in California, specifically Northern California because of it's large commercial industry (with the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay Area having the highest paid regular jobs in the nation).
