The metals have to be dug from the ground where they have to dig down very deep to reach the ore by using very big drills and mining machines. They have to use lifts to get the miners down to the gowned and have to use pips to get air so that the miners can breathe.

They also have to use trains to bring up the ore to the surface and then it is put in big trucks to be taken off to the factories.
