A German chemist (1742-1786). He worked in Sweden. He discovered the elements Oxygen (O) and Chlorine (Cl). He also outlined Barium (Ba), Tungsten (W) and Molybdenum (Mo).
Carl Wilhelm Scheele
Carl Wilhelm Scheele created chlorine in 1774 mistakenly thought it contained oxygen. Then Hmphry Davy named it.
It is not known what country barium was discovered in but it was discovered by German Carl Wilhelm Scheele in 1774. Barium is an alkaline metal.
Oxygen was discovered by Swedish pharmacist Carl Wilhelm Scheele. He had produced oxygen gas by heating mercuric oxide and various nitrates by about 1772.
Carl Wilhelm Scheele first discovered air in 1772, also Joseph Priestley in 1774. But it has never been noted where Oxygen got its name from.
