Alfred Lothar Wegener
Alfred Wegner thought that all the continents used to be one giant landmass called Pangea. He said that the continents would move a little each year. The scientists didnt believe him though, but later found out that it could be true because of the plates in the earth
it all loked like a puzzle he said. he had proof like the rock got to Asia from Europe without wind. It was moved when the continents had separated. Also south America and Europe look like they could fit together
Fossil evidence supporting Wegener's hypothesis of continental drift included identical fossils found on separate continents, showing that these landmasses were once connected. This supported the idea that continents had drifted apart over time. Additionally, the presence of ancient glacial deposits in regions that are now too warm for glaciers to form suggested that these areas were once located closer to the South Pole.
The first scientist who proposed that the Earth was elliptical was Sir Isaac Newton in the 17th century. He developed the laws of motion and universal gravitation, which led to the understanding of Earth's shape.
The Greek scientist who is credited with demonstrating that the Earth is round was Pythagoras. He believed that the Earth was a sphere based on observations of the shapes of celestial bodies like the moon during lunar eclipses.
because most scientist taught it was none sense because they taught that there was a land bridge between both continents. they said to him why don't you see them moving any more and Wegner said because the drift happens so slowly. BY THE.M.W
Alfred Wegener's project was the theory of continental drift, which proposed that Earth's continents were once joined together as a single landmass called Pangea and have since drifted apart over millions of years. Wegener's work laid the foundation for the later development of the theory of plate tectonics.
The first scientist to say the earth is not the centre of the whole universe was Nicolaus Copernicus early in the sixteenth century.

The man who proposed the idea that the seven continents were once joined together is Alfred Wegener. He introduced the theory of continental drift in the early 20th century, suggesting that the continents were once part of a single supercontinent called Pangaea. This idea laid the groundwork for the modern theory of plate tectonics.
