The sun stays the same temperature all the time.

(Well, actually, scientists say that it is very very slowly cooling down, but this is so minute and slow that it will take an extremely long time, "millions of years" before this makes any difference to life on earth.)

So if we are hot in the summertime, we know that the sun is many times hotter, yet constant.

Even when we are freezing cold in the wintertime we can look at the sun and know that it is still there, constantly generating a stable and regular supply of heat. And we can be confident that when it is our turn to have our annual summer, it will get warmer again, at least, it usually does!

No, the earth is further away from the sun when it is summer in the northern hemisphere, and closer in the winter, but because of the earth's axial tilt it receives the sun's rays more directly in summer.

No- but you will RECEIVE more of the sun's energy during the summer- the output from the sun is fairly constant, but the tilt of the earth affects how much energy a given area will receive. PS- when it is summer North of the Equator, it is winter South of the equator, and vice versa.

The actual sun is equally hot the year around, but the way the sunlight strike the Earth makes it hotter in summer and colder in winter. Unless you're close to the equator, where there isn't much of a difference.

Why are the reasons you experience seasons and changes in daylight hours in the northern hemisphere?

When Winter turns to Summer in the Northern Hemisphere, temperatures seem to increase on average. This is because Earth evolves around the Sun at an angle; and during the summer part of the revolution, the northern hemisphere tilts towards the sun, causing it to get hotter and temperatures to increase.
