cause whhen ice melts it turns to water that all i should have to say

**The previous answer is nonsense. If the dough (or whatever other material you wish to use) is floating in a full cup of water with ice, as the ice melts the level of the cup WILL NOT RISE. Simple physics, ice is less dense than water.

Density is equal to mass divided by volume or Density = Mass/Volume

Therefore, differentiating between equal masses of water and ice, the melted ice will have LESS volume than the equal (mass) amount of water in the glass thereby having no effect on the overall volume of water in the glass..... to paraphrase the first answer-er ... 'duh'

A glass full of water contain ice cubes floating in it .What will happen to the water level when ice melts?

When the ice melts the water level will rise. The water level will increase because Ice is frozen water and when the ice melts, it turns to water, which means more water will be added to the glass.

Beverage glass is filled to the brim with ice cold water 0C and ice cubes Some of the ice cubes are floating above the water level When the ice melts the water in the glass will?

When all the ice melts (it will take a while with the water at 0C), the water level in the glass will not be in any danger of overflowing the container because water is one of those rare liquids that expands when it freezes. (This is why a closed glass container of water put into a freezer will break.) This means that it contracts as it melts. The specific water level of the glass will depend on how much ice was floating above the water level, but it won't be in any danger of overflowing. As a matter of fact, the water level will actually be lower than the rim of the glass.

You have a pan with 2 inches of water. what happens to the water level when you introduce 4 1 cubic inch ice cubes?

The cubes will displace the water in the pan, causing the water level to rise by an amount equal to the volume of the cubes. The amount of the rise of the water level will depend on the dimensions of the pan.

Is ice cubes floating in water a compound?

Water is a compound, H2O. Liquid water, and Ice, as well as steam are 3 different states of the same compound, H2O. Although different states or the same compound, there is nothing remarkable about ice in water.
