It takes millions of years for organic matter to decay into fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, and coal). It takes just a few weeks to grow biomass and turn it into fuel.
Fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) started as organic matter 300 million years ago. They were subjected to intense temperatures and pressure and over millions of years turned into coal and oil. So now, when we dig them up and burn them, they are finished. We can only use them once. They are non-renewable.
Biomass fuel is really any kind of vegetation that is burnt to produce electricity. Ideally this is residue from other crops, like the remains of sugar cane (bagasse) after they crush out the sugar juice. All these crops can grow quickly, in one season, so they are renewable. We can always grow more.
Another advantage of biomass over fossil fuels is that it doesn't contribute to the build up of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere (because when it grows it removes an equivalent amount), but that's another question.
A:Fossil Fuel comes from decayed and compressed animal and vegetable matter that was crushed under the ground millions of years ago. When we burn it as coal, oil or natural gas, then that is gone. It doesn't "renew" like sunshine or wind, that is still there after we use it. So all fossil fuels are non-renewable.Biomass is vegetable material that grows quickly, in a season. It absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and releases that same carbon when it is burnt, so it is part of the natural carbon cycle. Because we can grow it again quickly, biomass is considered renewable.
i dont know
Biofules
Renewable resources are anything that can be replenished in a relatively short amount of time from hours to days or at most a few years. Examples include wind, solar, water, and nuclear. Nonrenewable resources are things that are not easily replenished such as oil, coal, or natural gas.
Sustainability? Green Living? Common Sense?
The only one classified as non-renewable is fossil fuels. In fact, fossil fuels are the ONLY energy resources that are classified as non-renewable, simply because we know that there must be a finite supply, however large. Similar forms of bio-energy such as peat may be considered non-renewable because of the long time frame required to replace it compared to its rate of use. So when we say "non-renewable" it means that oil cannot be created to meet future demands on human time scales.
Non-renewable...
Yes

No, Biomass is a renewable energy source. Bio mass is RENEWABLE. The duration and efficiency of renewal is relative to the bio mass source. Algae is the ideal renewable bio mass when equated per time
No with the exception of bio-gas.
Yes Bio-fuels are renewable source of energy. It is true that every mole of bio-fuel will yield loss less energy than burning regular fuel but important thing is bio-fuel don't produce harmful gases when burnt. By improving technical know how we can make machinery that will run efficiently on bio-fuels.
we use fossil fuels for fuel, funny enough, and in many different things, cars, power, diesel, but they are gradually running out and seeing as they are not renewable (we cant make more) we have to turn to bio fuels which are renewable. Bio fuels are made out of sugar, but a negative side to this is all the space where crops normally ccrop will be filled up with fields of sugar cane!
Here's a list of the major renewable energies:1. Solar2. Wind3. Hydro power4. Geo-thermal5. Bio fuels, such as ethanol and bio-diesel6. Tidal energy
alternative fuels
Sun, nuclear fuels, oil, gas, wind, waves, rivers, animals, bio fuels.
