Because Francium is so highly radioactive, it disintegrates before it can be collected. The half-life of the least stable isotope of Francium, Francium-215, is a mere 86 nanoseconds. The half-life of the most stable isotope of Francium, Francium-223, is still only 22 minutes. Scientists cannot gather Francium from nature due to the fact that even if they do come across some, it will soon disintegrate into other elements like barium. If scientists want to study Francium, they must make Francium atoms in a laboratory.

What are the things that have francium in it?

This might be a disappointing answer, but Francium is so rare that it isn't usually sold. So if you're looking for something about the price of Francium for a school project, you can just write about Francium's rareness. Your teacher would understand, don't worry! Personally, I think that even if Francium was out for selling, it would cost a lot of money. Just trust me! If you don't believe it, then look around the internet. You may not be able to get the answer.

What is the abundance of fluorine in the earth's crust?

[I just had the misfortune of having to write an essay on Francium, for my GCSEs, so i decided to give some information on it to other people who need it for these kinds of circumstances.]There is no more than one ounce of Francium in the Earths crust at any one time. In fact, unlike other alkali metals, it was not 'stumbled upon'. It took many years and a lot of studying to work out that there must be another group one element with a higher reactivity than Caesium. It is not possible to do any tests on Francium as it has a half life of 22 minutes but we can work out most things about it by looking at the other Group 1 metals....x...Prisca Zia...x...

Sodium metal in chlorine gas releases energy is it a physical property?

No, the release of energy when sodium metal reacts with chlorine gas is a chemical property, not a physical property. Chemical properties involve changes in the chemical composition of a substance, while physical properties are characteristics that can be observed without changing the substance's composition.

What proof did they have that Pangaea is real?

There is no direct proof. But there is evidence best explained by Pangaea having existed. This is the case with a lot of science, and looking for proof is not a very productive way to proceed. Proof works well only in mathematics.

Where can I find information about the mineral diamond?

You can find information about diamonds in books, scientific journals, websites of organizations like the Gemological Institute of America, and museums with mineral collections. These sources often provide details on the chemical composition, properties, formation, and uses of diamonds.

Can francium kill?

Francium is a highly reactive alkali metal that can potentially be lethal due to its extreme reactivity and radioactivity. However, its extreme rarity and short half-life make meaningful exposure unlikely in practice. Handling francium would require specialized equipment and expertise due to its hazardous properties.

Why are caesium have similar chemical properties to francium?

They only need to lose one electron to obtain noble gas configuration and thus it is extremely energetically favorable for them to do this. Rubidium, potassium, sodium and lithium also only need one electron removing. With cesium and francium however, the atoms are much larger making the outer electron much further from the positive nucleus and also shielded by lot more electrons. This makes it extremely easy to remove and thus they are both highly reactive.
