Sodium is very reactive. If you handle with hand,it may react with water(in sweat or) in hand causing serious wounds.
It should be sodium hypochlorite: NaClO
Sodium shouldn't sink in water at room temperature, because the density of sodium is less than the density of water. The density of sodium at room temperature is 0.968 g/cm3, whereas the density of water at room temperature is 0.998g/cm3. So technically, sodium should float in water, not sink.
short answer: nolong answer: if you have to ask, you should not be using this stuff
sodium acetateThe chemical name for NaC2H3O2 is sodium acetate.

To avoid contamination, especially in chemical analysis.
Control of exposure to radiation is driven by 3 factors- time, distance, and shielding. Radiation is subject to the "inverse square law- doubling distance reduces exposure by the inverse square- so a little distance (long handled tongs) reduces exposure a LOT.
Sodium combines with Chlorine in a 1:1 ratio to make common, pure, table salt. Sodium by its self is reactive, and should be handled very carefully I know.
Your standard (long-handled) 3-piece set comes with fork, spatula and... tongs.
