First, we cannot stop global warming, we can only act to slow the process, hopefully reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions so atmospheric concentrations will stablize and allow the earth's complex systems to find a new balance and, in turn, allow temperature to eventually stop rising and, eventually, start to move in the opposite direction.
Second, the world's population is growing and they will need food. To reduce food supply will only cause greater starvation, mass migration and greater wars over such resources. The greater instability in the world casued by such activities would only result in less focus on global warming as more violent and pressing needs would consume time and money. in short, food could nto and would not ever be the place where global interests would ever tackle global warming.
Third, there is some current concerns that growing interest in and production of ethanol and other biofuels could impact world food supplies by A) reducing levels of corn and other crops because they are being used for fuel production and B) increasing costs of the crops that are still available for food. These impacts would be unintentional so really does not apply to your question. Nevertheless, I believe many would argue this is a serious concern and you will continue to see governments monitor this issue closely, noting adverse impacts on food supplies will result in strong government pushes to other alternative fuels.
A:If we could stop it, would doing so require us to produce less food? It's a simple question. It takes tractors to grow food. Tractors burn fossil fuels. Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide causes global warming. Therefore, producing food causes global warming. Of course, we could also fight global warming by banning cars. But, WILL IT BE ENOUGH? That's my question. If every other source of man-made CO2 emissions was completely BANNED, will that stop global warming. Or, after we give up our cars, our industries, our electrIcity, our natural gas, all the things that make life comfortable and enjoyable, will we STILL have to give up food, which makes life POSSIBLE?! A:Because modern agricultural production requires equipment that burns fossil fuels. As long as we're burning fossil fuels, atmospheric CO2 levels will continue to increase, and temperatures will continue to rise. We can ban cars and trucks, and electricity, but if we don't ban tractors and combines as well, there will always be some carbon dioxide emissions. So, we can SLOW global warming, but we can't STOP it, let alone REVERSE it, unless we ban tractors and combines as well. And THAT will severely restrict food production.Yes, if the whole world drove less, or changed to renewable energy to power their vehicles, then we can do something to prevent global warming. There are electric vehicles now, and there are solar and wind farms that are producing emission free electricity. The numbers of both will surely grow and should make a difference to global warming.
Reducing CO2 emissions will help to slow global warming. To reverse global warming we would have to transfer very soon to renewable sources of energy (solar, hydro, wind, tidal, wave, geothermal and biofuels) to generate electricity and to power all our transport. We would also have to have a massive planting of trees all over the world to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
When you turn off a light you are helping slow global warming by using less electricity. Most electricity is generated by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). This burning releases carbon dioxide, which is causing global warming.
Efforts to prevent global warming in our oceans include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting renewable energy sources, enforcing marine conservation measures to protect ecosystems, and raising awareness about the impacts of climate change on oceans. International agreements like the Paris Agreement aim to limit global temperature rise and mitigate the effects of warming on marine environments.
Reducing temperature increases could be accomplished by reducing the quantity of greenhouse gases In the atmospher , notably carbon dioxide (which is released by the combustion of fuels for energy).
Burning petroleum releases carbon dioxide, one of the greenhouse gases that are causing Global Warming.Using electricity (which is largely produced by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas)) produced carbon dioxide when it was generated.Reducing our use of petroleum and fossil fuel generated electricity will contribute to reducing Global Warming.
Yes. But we can prevent it, stop using fossil fuels and electricity too much and hopefully global warming can slow down.
Yes. Most electricity is still generated by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas). This releases carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas responsible for global warming. If nobody in the world wasted electricity, we could stop building so many coal fired power stations (and slow global warming).
No, chlorine has no effect on Global Warming.
Yes, solar panels and hot water systems reduce our use of electricity, as we use the sun to generate electricity and to heat the water. Most electricity comes from burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) and this releases carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas causing global warming. So solar systems help prevent global warming.
No, the sun does not prevent global warming. It provides the heat originally, and we add the extra greenhouse gases to capture more of it, causing global warming.
They produce electricity without adding greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, thus reducing the effect of global warming.
going green is to prevent global warming.
As we are all living on the planet we are all responsible for the global warming.
Yes, if the whole world drove less, or changed to renewable energy to power their vehicles, then we can do something to prevent global warming. There are electric vehicles now, and there are solar and wind farms that are producing emission free electricity. The numbers of both will surely grow and should make a difference to global warming.
A Venus flytrap, a small plant that lives on insects, will not be able to prevent global warming. It will remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, but only a small amount. A huge forest of giant Venus flytraps would be more effective, but unlikely.
Yes if you are talking about mations because they use electricity and that is part of global warming XXX
