Yes. I am in Finance in the military. The only way you will ever lose your pay or benefits while serving in the military is in the case that our government ceased to exist. if the economy was bad enough that the government has no money there first priority will always be national defense. Don't worry about losing your benefits. And with the way the economy is looking I would say that the military is the safest place to be.

Is it a good time to get out of the army?

Coming from a active duty SGT... There is NO work ... civilians are trying their hardest to find a job... unless you have special OPs schools under your belt that can benefit you in the civilian world... take your chances... stay in ... get a bonus.... On the down side depending on your MOS & how many times you get deployed... maybe you'd be better off sittin at home... who knows. A second answer: It isn't a good time in the economy in general so unless you have a situation with guaranteed employment and benefits that match your military allowances, it is probably better to stay. It's hard to find benefits with any employer that match your benefits and with the new spouse benefits for military members, your spouse will find it much easier to find a job while you are still in.

What was the major cause of the postwar recession in the US?
