their is a close relationship between poverty and illiteracy .

if a person is poor that means he has no money . poor person do not have a single money to fulfill their hungryness . so he do not use a bit money to spent in education and also engage his children to help him .

Can unemployment lead to poverty?

Unemployment leads to poverty because without employment a person has no reliable source of income. Every person has certain needs and wants (this could be related to consumption etc.) without any income a person cannot fulfill his/her basic needs. Poverty is a situation in which a person is unable to satisfy his/her wants. Now employment may be denied to a person because : that person might not have basic skills needed to accomplish the task(illiteracy),Or because of ill health, or because of discrimination /social exclusion. These reasons are either causes/outcomes of poverty. So you see unemployment leads to poverty but poverty too leads to unemployment.

How illiteracy affects the economy of a country?

Illiteracy significantly hampers a country's economic growth by limiting the workforce's skill level and productivity. It restricts individuals' access to better job opportunities, leading to lower incomes and increased poverty rates. This, in turn, reduces consumer spending and overall economic activity, while also increasing dependency on social welfare systems. Furthermore, a less educated populace can hinder innovation and technological advancement, critical drivers of economic development.
