Generally speaking the more jobs an economy can fill or advertise the need to fill can definitely lead to a better economy.

A good economy is one where the unemployment rate is low and the monthly application for unemployment benefits is also low. The more people at work means more money at their disposal. This means more products can be sold and new orders can be filled. It also means that the potential tax base for governments is higher. Since many governments are in debt, the ability to tax the salaries & wages of its population can help ease the burden of debt.

The increase in employment also can mean that taxes perhaps do not need to be raised.

Is it absolutely important for governments to have nationalised industries to be able to control the economy's?

While this may lead to a better controlled economy, it would also most likely lead to a less effective economy, and nowadays it is far more important for an economy to be effective than to be under total government control. As such, nationalising industry is probably only worthwhile in necessary, but unprofitable industry, such as the British Royal Mail.

Why would it lead to hard times for Boston that they closed the Boston Harbor?

At the time, Boston's economy was largely dependent on the trade - import and export - that was based on Boston's position as a major harbor. Blockading that harbour would lead to almost all its imports and exports coming to a standstill, people losing their jobs etc.

What was the result of the flow of money and growth in population?

The result of the flow of money and growth in population can lead to economic expansion and increased market activity. As the population grows, there is greater demand for goods and services, which can stimulate economic development. What is Agricultural economy?

An agricultural-based economy is an economy in which everything starts with how well agriculture in that society is. Such as in the Ancient Mesopotamian society in which a surplus caused by agriculture led to job specialization, which in turn led to more manufacturing, which led to more trade, which would then lead to a richer economy. But if the farming is not producing enough food, then more workers will have to work in agriculture which leads to less manufacturing/specialized jobs, which in turn leads to less trade, and then a poor-er economy.

What issues might arise if the economy reached full employment?

It would lead to a period of inflation

How did machines lead to a decrease in jobs?

Machines lead to a decrease in jobs because machines were more advanced. Machines could practically do the person's job within minutes while it would take the person hours. Machines could also produce better and more accurate products. Business owners also found it cheaper to use machines to do the work.
