At the time, Boston's economy was largely dependent on the trade - import and export - that was based on Boston's position as a major harbor. Blockading that harbour would lead to almost all its imports and exports coming to a standstill, people losing their jobs etc.

What did Britain do about their tea getting dumped in the harbor?

Because they were outraged that England MADE the colonist buy all their tea from the English and British, and this was a way they could express how they felt. So when the ship landed on the dock with their tea and some people dressed up as Indians and threw out the crates of tea into the Boston Harbor, and to serve the colonist a punishment, they blocked the people with ships by the Boston Harbor!

Would the colonists have been justified in dumping the British tea into Boston Harbor?

For the colonists the answer is yes. To the British the answer is no. It all depends on who's viewpoint you are looking at it from.

What did the British take over after Charles town?

Charles town was a "suburb" of Boston so when they came into Boston after the Boston Tea Party and closed the harbor it was just a matter of troops taking over. Boston was in a siege state and this would continue for months. It got so bad in Boston that the people were burning church pews to keep warm when winter hit. The British held Charelstown that was largely in ruins and Bunker Hill with 11,000 troops in the area. In the harbor off Long Wharf were 3 ships of the line with 50 guns or more. The main concentration of American troops were at Prospect Hill and gunpowder was low. Little gunpowder was made in the colonies and there was only enough for about 9 rounds per man. One report states that the "sound of British shells overhead was like the flock of geese."
