Today all the economists in the world have admitted this fact that expenditure on education is productive. If a country has trained manpower it makes the economic activities productive.If the manpower is uneducated and unskilled then per capita output will be low. It leads to low income low investment and low rate of development.
Keeping in view the importance of education Government of Pakistan has allocated Rs. 2.1 billion in the 7th five year plan. In the 8th five year plan there was record increase in the education sector. Present Government is also paying special attention to this sector. In order to improve the skilled manpower various programs have been introduced :
1. Government has increased the commercial training institute and commercial colleges in the public and private sector to provide technical education to the people.
2. Vocational institutions have been increased for male and female students.
3. "Naiy Roshni" Scheme had been introduced to increase the rate of literacy but it fails.
4. Federal programme for skill development has been introduced.
5. Allama Iqbal Open University has been introduced.
6. Rural training and instructor training facilities have been provided by the government. No doubt the rate of education has increased to 36.7% but still there is a need of further improvement.
7. Special allowances is given to PH.D. degree holders.
Anyhow today nobody can ignore the role of education in the economic development. Anyhow we can say that educated and skilled manpower is an asset for the nation. Present govt. is paying social attention to education. Now primary education is free in the country

Education has been an important part in society and it has a great significance to us. A complete education provides large number of qualified people with advanced knowledge and skills through a wide range of subjects. Education has a tremendous influence on the civilization which helps for a countries development.This may improve the local economy as doctors,architectures,businessman are born to the development of the country.Nowadays,when our world is slowly developing in the area of economics,in every fields there's a strong growing needs in experienced and talented people who will be able to contribute to the development of a country. It's very important that education plays an important role in the development process of countries.Higher education helps people to succeed in life. Higher education is not compulsory of young people because they can learn from their experience while at work.If we take an example: Two people are working in one company in production line.One person has obtained higher education while the other person has not.The important factor is that the person with higher education background will control his production line from an insight mind while the other person do it in a normal way.Higher education does not only provide with knowledge but also it helps to develop your pride and personality. Our world,our country,our society will not develop if people engage in murders,crimes and robberies. Every person have good qualities along with bad,but the higher education gives us the opportunity to develop our good and satisfactory sides by providing our country with people,for the sack of countries development.Higher education is one of the most significant one, that can control our past, present and future. Therefor, I agree that education is the single most important development in the country.
