Economically there will be a more pronounced move to a service based economy, this is happening already. This sector of the US economy will have fierce competition from Europe and most especially the BRIC countries. I can see the US GDP falling as a result of that, if you look at history no power ever remains at the top of the food chain forever. According to the most recent US NIC report, US power will diminish transforming it into the first amongst equals, rather than being leagues ahead of everyone else. Also it's inevitable that at some point their will be a movement away from the Dollar as the global reserve currency, which will cause the US...complications...
