I'm not sure about the Puritan Catholics but I know that the Mormon church or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (as it is formally known) was not established until 1830. So it obviously had no effect on the founding of the US (it has influenced other laws, procedures, etc. afterwards).
