In the XVIIIth century, Europe (mainly the Dutch, England, and France) ruled inetrnational trade through the web of its international trading companies, thanks to the development of its marine, and its colonies. In general, the economy during this time was still agriculturally-based.

France and England shared North America, Spain and Portugal central and South America and they developed these conquests and their economies through agriculture (thanks to slavery) and commerce (slave trade, cotton trade, tobaco, coffee, etc...)

China was flourishing too with silk and "China" trade but with no army outside its empire and no colonies. During the 18th century, European rulers were very interested in Asian goods, including spices, cotton, silk, and tea; the trade worked only one way however, as Asia wanted no European manufactured goods. Asia became a "gold drain" for Europe Trade between Eastern and Western Europe increased significantly during this time.

Global economy refers to the expansion of economies beyond national borders, in particular, the expansion of production by transnational corporations to many countries around the world. The global economy includes the globalization of production, markets, finance, communications, and the labor force. Global competition is effecting on the US economy in several ways. First many of American companies moved to China because of cheap labor and more profit. More and more American companies are investing in China and India. As a consequences, people living in America like us looses job and makes harder to get the job. What is the relation between globalization and national economy?

The simplest answer I can think of is that if the western or global economy declines in output (lands in recession), that for the most part countries will also decline in gross domestic product (answer) . Because output decreases in a different country whom you are trading with, exports from that country will decrease since output has declined, and imports from that country will decline since they are raking in less revenue. This has a domino effect on all countries that they are trading with. The significance of this kind of fall depends on how much that country imports/exports. If a country like Germany or China exported less it would be devastating to the global economy and our national economy would be really bad to say the least. (explanation) So the status of our economy heavily depends on the global economy because of trade.

What was the American economy like in the mid-1780's?

18th Century American EconomyIt was an agricultural economy. In the South it was based on slave labor. Industry was still small, many producers were still craft based, ie. the local smith. Trade with England was important and English capital was very important to develop industry. 18th century America wasn't as equal as in 17th century America, but the settlers in the New World were still far more prosperous than the average citizen in England. The southern colonies were based on plantations (Mainly tobacco), and the New England colonies were based on ship building, lumbering, etc. The New England colonies contained more of a "middle class" than the southern ones. The southerner's middle class were the small-time land-owning farmers..The AMERICAN economy in the 18th century was one stricken inflation and worthlessness. After America claimed independence and fought the Revolutionary War it was severely in debt. The major focus of the first administrations was regaining economic power such as Alexander Hamilton`s Financial Program. Other countries around the world had a joke against American money of the time, the monetary unit was called a Continental and when they though something was worthless they said "It isn't worth a Continental".

How many years in 17th century?

100 years just like any other century It went from 1600 to 1700 and from there it was the 18th century

What years was the 18th century in?

1700-1799 in which I know, in the 18th century, the ballerini brothers were italian catholic theologians and canonists. Girolamo Ballerini died April 32 1781. Pietro Ballerini died March 28 1769. Actually, the 18th century (like any other century for that matter) begins at year one, so it would be 1701-1800. 1700 is still the 17th century.
