As per recent information given by FM of India in LS on 8/3/2011, among large state Maharashtra is wealthiest in India with Rs.74,027 Per Capita Income, Gujarat is having Rs.63,961 & TN is having Rs.62,499 PCI.
Goa is overall topper with 1,32,719 PCI. Chandigarh & Delhi have Rs 1,20,912 and Rs 1,16,886.PCI resp. However thse are very tiny states. Like Goa is having only 14 lakh population and at no ground can be compared with extra large states like Maharashtra having 10 crore population.
Bihar is having least per capita income at Rs.16,119, while while other bottom layer states are : UP:- 23132, MP:-27192 & Assam:-27250.
