If making a product sells 5000 units in US alone every year, then by engaging in international trade you might be able to sell 3 times as much.

If buying a product from America cost you 6.000 dollars and same product form Taiwan cost 1/3rd. then it is obvious that you save money by doing international business.

One consideration is always quality.

It is always easier to complain and get a refund if the business was done in ones own country. Much more costly to complain and get a refund from abroad.
