Clearly, it's a feminine form of "Life", which is very nice. But it can also be translated
as "Animal". So maybe you want to think about it some more.
Here's a thought ... take it for what it's worth: In all of Jewish holy writings, names carry great
significance; they always say a lot about the character, nature, and values of the individual. This
approach is popular in the selection of names for Jewish children ... they're often given names that
suggest the character, nature, and values that the parents wish for the child, or of a biblical or historic
figure who the parents hope the child will emulate, or of a deceased relative to be memorialized.
You might like to conduct your search with this approach in the back of your mind, once you decide
on the character, nature, and values you plan for yourself as a Jew. You can translate these into a
name with any of the popular books on naming Jewish children, or by discussing it with your rabbi
or teacher.
Good luck. And ... as that great Jewish comedian, Rodney Dangerfield, so wisely admonished:
"While you're using the name, don't give it a bad name !" ;-)
